WHY HIRE A PROJECT MANAGER?
Many dollars can be lost through poor project management. Preparing plans and seeking the lowest bidder isn't always the best, or least expensive
solution. An owner must have control to ensure the project fits his or her individual requirements and that all decisions
reflect his or her thinking.
A Project Manager, acting as the owner's representative throughout the development of a
property or in assisting the owner in specific capacities, is equipped to run things smoothly and on schedule.
For a successful project, someone has to take the role of ensuring adequate planning, organization and
coordination, and be identified as the overall leader of the project.
Management continuity must be provided through the design, site development and construction phases from
a single source acting on the owner's behalf.
Having a project manager is also an ideal way to avoid "bad-relationships." Having an intermediary goes a long
way toward eliminating adversity, since the project manager can eliminate confrontation between the owner,
contractor and architect.
In summary, a project manager expedites an owner's decision-making processes while reducing the chances
of error - good insurance for everyone to have!
